Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) is a goal-directed intervention in which a farm animal is an integral part of the treatment process. It is designed to promote improvement in human physical, social, emotional, and/or cognitive functioning. The ranch environment provides the unique opportunity to incorporate AAT into the educational and therapeutic curriculum.
Animal Assisted Activities (AAA) provide opportunities for recreational, motivational, educational, and/or therapeutic benefits to aid healing, speed recovery and enhance quality of life. AAA are delivered by trained volunteers in association with animals that meet specific criteria.
